Grainstoves from J. A. Mitchell Marketing

J.A. Mitchell Marketing is the sales representative for Harman Stove Company in Western Canada. As the sales representative for all of Western Canada, we are the link between Harman Stoves and the retail stores who sell and service Harman products. We have spent countless hours on the road traveling through B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba meeting with Harman dealers and customers. In these travels, we have seen a need among Canadian farmers for a grain stove that burns unmarketable grain.

In contrast to the huge corporations that dominate the farming industry in the United States, most Canadian farmers are family or small business operations. These small Canadian farmers usually have a certain amount of unmarketable grain on hand, and unlike the large American farming corporations, small Canadian farmers have houses and shops to heat during the long winter months. With the Harman PC-45, farmers can heat their homes for a full season by burning approximately 150 bushels grain, and it has been our experience that Canadian farmers usually have at least 150 bushels of unmarketable grain on hand. Therefore, we came to believe that by burning unmarketable grain in the Harman PC-45, Canadian farmers would be able to save considerably on their heating bills and drastically reduce their dependence on foreign and domestic energy providers.

After seeing this possibility, we worked with Harman to adjust and fine-tune their industry leading corn stove to burn a wide variety of unmarketable Canadian grain. It is our hope that Canadian farmers will be able to use the Harman PC-45 to heat their homes and shops with unmarketable grain that would likely have gone to waste.
